Radio-frequency radiation emitted by cell phones (below the FCC safety levels) is related to biological effects like: DNA damage, cancer, miscarriage, autism, asthma, decreased fertility, cognitive impairment, blood-brain barrier damage.
“People are correctly concerned about being subjected to the radiation from external sources, often forgetting that their cell phone, being always in a close proximity to the body, emits extremely high levels of high frequency radiation. Often times it can be tens of times higher than any other source,” – says building biologist Albina Kria. “ANY level of radiation is not safe. Elimination of the source should always be the first step. When it’s not possible, minimizing the exposure is the next solution.”
Radio-frequency radiation emitted by cell phones is related to a long list of biological effects, according to the BioInitiative Report, a document compiled by 29 world scientists, referencing over 1800 scientific studies. Some of these are: DNA damage, increased risk of cancer, miscarriage, autism, asthma, decreased fertility, sperm motility and overall quality, cognitive impairment, blood-brain barrier damage.
Absolute majority of these effects occur below the allowed FCC exposure limit, that is based on thermal effect. Let’s reiterate it, the FCC limit is based on the heating effect – the level of radiation when human tissue starts burning, meaning anything below it is considered to be safe.
